The Tri-borough Music Hub is delighted to share two brand new songs written by the Ivor award-winning composer, Charlotte Harding who we worked with on CONVO last year. During her lockdown time, Charlotte has written these songs and gifted them to the TBMH so we can help provide further musical opportunities for our community. This incredible offer means that we can share these with everyone in our community for FREE. We hope that you will enjoy the songs and sing them with your friends, your family and your school. As well as thanking Charlotte, we would like to extend our thanks to Rebecca Devereux (vocals) and Liam Quinn (mixing & mastering) who helped prepare the teaching and learning resources which are below. Here is a short note from Charlotte:
Hi Everyone,
I’m Charlotte and I met quite a few of you as part of the ‘Convo’ project at the Royal Albert Hall last year.
For those of you I haven’t met before, hello! I’m a composer and I write music for all sorts of different bands and ensembles, and recently have written some music for you all.
These two songs have been written as a response to the Covid-19 situation we are all being affected by at the moment. The hope is that these songs can convey the incredible love and strength shown by so many during these challenging times and bring us all together through the power of music.
‘Clap’ is aimed at KS1/2 and SEND pupils and puts the message of appreciation and togetherness into a song for all those who have been working, and continue to work, so hard to do positive things for other people during this time.
‘Love Will Fill the Silence’ is aimed at KS3-5 and explores emotive themes and responses to the current situation. This is a more reflective song that can apply to many situations in our lives.
It’s lovely to be able to share these songs with you all.
Take care, Charlotte
