Sounds Like Hammersmith & Fulham

The Tri-borough Music Hub is delighted to have been given the accolade of lead delivery partner for Phase One of Sounds like Hammersmith & Fulham which has lots of upcoming free opportunities for your students, your school and teachers responsible for teaching music.

Sounds like Hammersmith & Fulham is the springboard for the delivery of a ten-year programme of cultural development in the borough. The focus is young people, creating the opportunity for long-term change through social integration and by countering knife crime through innovative arts and cultural provision, using music as a medium. The programme will be a catalyst for change, providing opportunities to foster and facilitate collaboration between music professionals and lay people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. It will be delivered in two phases – the first for 14-18 year olds, the second for 18-25 year olds, which will be delivered by HQI. Sounds like Hammersmith & Fulham is funded by a cultural Impact Award as part of the Mayor’s London Borough of Culture programme.

Phase One is an ambitious music programme throughout 2022 available for all 14-18 year olds who live or go to school in LBHF focussing on 3 genres: Music Production & Technology, Hip-hop & Rap & Song-writing

The programme will focus on the following areas:

➔    Youth Voice & empowerment

➔    Educational settings provision

Youth Voice & Empowerment

H&F Council in partnership with the Tri-Borough Music Hub want local young people to help us kickstart our new arts programme to develop the next generation of stars from our talented pool of local young musicians.

The Young Music Producers Board  (for 14-25 year olds) will have the chance to learn new skills and be part of a team that creates the first live gig celebrating contemporary music for young people across Hammersmith & Fulham. To get involved click here!

Educational settings provision

Across the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham there are 11 mainstream 14-18 schools, 2 x 6th forms, 2 x Alternate Provision settings and 4 x Special schools.

Working in partnership with the Rhythm Studio Foundation we have created bespoke programmes to suit the needs of all young people attending these settings and their teachers in order to champion the importance of, and create a legacy of positive music making & self-expression, creativity and culture.

About the hub.

The Tri-borough Music Hub is a centralised Local Authority service which receives core funding from Arts Council England. It is the lead organisation that oversees the delivery of music education in three West London boroughs: the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea; the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham; and City of Westminster.
