Lead Schools

Tri-borough Music Hub is seeking to appoint Lead Schools for Music

In accordance with the new DfE/ACE changes and the new National Plan for Music Education (NPME), from April 2025 Lead Schools for Music must be appointed in each Local Authority area. The Tri-borough Music Hub (TBMH) started the process of defining the roles and selecting Lead Schools/Settings during late Autumn 2023. We have now set out the criteria, role, and process for the selection of the Lead Schools/Settings within LBHF, RBKC, and WCC (there is also contextual information about the new Music Hub geographical areas that came into effect from September 2024).

  • Read this Document (Word version) to find out more information about the entire Lead Schools Programme.

  • A summary of the key information can be found in this PDF Presentation.

About the hub.

The Tri-borough Music Hub is a centralised Local Authority service which receives core funding from Arts Council England. It is the lead organisation that oversees the delivery of music education in three West London boroughs: the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea; the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham; and City of Westminster. We work with schools, children and young people and the music workforce.
