Remissions 26-27

2026-27 Remissions Policy

The TBMH heavily subsidises the costs of all our activities to offer value for money to families and to enable equal access. On top of these subsidised prices, families can access up to a maximum of 50% off the cost of TBMH activity if they qualify within any of the following categories:

Free School Meals / Universal Credit

- You are eligible for 50% off the cost of provision if your child receives Free School Meals at a state school in the Tri-borough area.

- Your child may be able to get free school meals if you are in receipt of Universal Credit.

- It is no longer necessary to obtain the Free School Meals letter from your child’s school – proof of receipt of Universal Credit will suffice – but please note that the discount is only for families in receipt of Free School Meals at a state school in the Tri-borough area. Children not attending a state school in the Tri-borough area do not qualify for any discounts, even if the family is in receipt of Universal Credit.

Looked After Children

Post-Looked After Children (children who have been adopted from care or left care)

Service Children (Ever 6 service child FTE or in receipt of pensions under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme [AFCS] or the War Pensions Scheme [WPS])

In all cases proof of entitlement will be required before provision starts or the discount cannot be applied until the following term.

Sibling Discounts

Families who do not fall into the above categories can still benefit from a 25% discount for the second sibling attending the same activity (e.g. in the same choir or both attending Saturday Music School).

Please Note

- These remissions do not stack and the maximum discount is 50% per child if claiming the Free School Meals discount.

- These discounts are for the 2026-27 academic year only and may be withdrawn or reduced in the future.

- Instruments can be hired from the TBMH and remissions also apply to hire charges.

Instrument Hire and Charging

- Instruments can be hired from the TBMH at a charge of £28 per term. Remissions also apply to this charge.

- Instrument hire costs will be added to the termly invoice.

About the hub.

The Tri-borough Music Hub is a centralised Local Authority service which receives core funding from Arts Council England. It is the lead organisation that oversees the delivery of music education in three West London boroughs: the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea; the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham; and City of Westminster. We work with schools, children and young people and the music workforce.
